My name is Nathan and I've just died. I was sixteen years old when in battle, I came too near to the unionist whereupon he thrust his bayonet through me. The last thing I could remember were my hands, warm blood and bowels between them, and David's screams. He called my name. The smell was terrible, but only for a short time. I do not know how long he held me in his arms until I died.
Now I see him, from above, how he is holding my corpse, touching the blood as if he wanted to make sure I had really died. Yes, I am dead. Standing beside him is James, he has taken off his cap like they do at funerals.
Am I sad? No, not really. My time is over. But I will wait for him.
I have learned everything about the Civil War a few weeks ago in History class, it's funny that you draw this now, it helps me revise my lesson for the exam.
Great pic, very emotional... Have you written the text yourself ? It suits the pic really well.
There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example.
