Subtitle: Marie Antoinette, Queen of France, getting dressed (1787/1788)

Queen: "Ouch! Don't pull the strings like that!"
Lady I: "Forgive me, Your Majesty, but it was you who introduced the fashion of having a waist like that."
Lady II: "What kind of necklace do you want to wear today, Your Majesty?"
Queen: "Shut up - can't you see I'm suffering?"
Lady II: "This one is a real mother-of-pearl..."
Lady I: "Her Majesty told you to shut up. And I have do focus on those damn corset strings."
Lady II: "Let me help pulling, please-"
Queen: "Ouch! Ow! Stop that!"


First real painting after 12 months of being nearly idle. ^_^ I really missed digital painting while in Texas, and only now I've found some time to do soemthing like this. This one took me about 30 hours, spread over 15 days.

I'd like to thank the community of Epilogue.net for giving me constructive critique during the progress. :heart:

Corsets make me shudder, though I blame the episode of CSI about the guy who wore one for that... especially with the graphic display of what they do to your insides.

Pretty picture though. :D Very pretty queen, until she lost her head.

oi ... schön, mal wieder was von dir zu sehen. :)
das licht find ich hier sehr gelungen. ich stelle mit vor, dass sie sich für einen ball ankleidet, im hintergrund eine geöffnete tür (durch die das licht eindringt). geöffntete türen haben für mich immer etwas unruhiges ... vielleicht hat sie es eilig ...

die anatomie ist an manchen stelln noch nicht ganz rund. ich denke da vor allem an den 'kettenarm' der grünen dame. die hand müsste in der perspektive etwas größer sein. auffällig ist jedoch eher der arm.
bis zum handgelenk wirkt er auf mich, als verlaufe er gerade nach unten. das mag einerseits daran liegen, dass er nach hinten nicht dicker wird (im gegensatz zum anderen arm), andererseits würden sich bei der haltung auch die rüschen des ärmels mehr nach der rundung des armes fallen, wobei ihr schatten auch entlang der rundung schräg nach unten ginge.
äh, sowas beschreibt sich immer so schlecht. ich hoffe es ist irgendwie nachvollziehbar. ^^;

marie antoinette, hm? hast du mal die biografie von stefan zweig gelesen? ziemlicher wälzer, aber ich find sie toll. :)

wow i love the poses in the peice you really get a feel of the pic, its almost like a photograph, they looks so natural ^^

Das Buch von Stefan Zweig hab ich allerdings (noch) nicht gelesen.
